What causes the slow starting problem in my Suzuki Alto during the winter months?

During colder weather in Pakistan, I’ve noticed that my Suzuki Alto struggles to start. The engine turns over very slowly o r not at all. Could the starter motor be the issue, o r could the cold weather be affecting other parts of the vehicle? How can I prevent o r fix this problem in my Alto?

Slow starting in cold weather is a common problem, especially in colder regions of Pakistan. When the temperature s, the oil thickens, and the battery’s ability to provide sufficient power can diminish, which makes the starter motor work harder. In these conditions, the starter motor may take longer to turn the engine over. Another issue could be a weak battery that struggles in cold weather.

To resolve this issue:

Ensure your battery is in good condition and replace it if it’s old o r weak.
Consider using thinner, winter-grade oil to reduce strain on the starter motor.
Check the starter motor for wear and clean o r replace it if necessary.
Keep the battery terminals clean and corrosion-free.
