Can a stuck thermostat block coolant circulation, and how can one check if it’s faulty?

Thermostat function: The thermostat regulates the flow of coolant between the engine and the radiator. If it fails especially in the closed position, it can block coolant from flowing properly, causing the engine to overheat.
Signs of a faulty thermostat:

Temperature gauge fluctuation: The engine temperature may be inconsistent o r stay higher than normal.
Engine overheating: The engine may overheat suddenly.
Coolant temperature issues: If you notice that the engine cools down too quickly o r never reaches optimal operating temperature, the thermostat could be stuck open o r closed.
