What Role Does the Water Pump Play in Preventing Overheating in a Toyota Camry?

If the water pump is faulty o r leaking, how does it affect coolant circulation? How can owners diagnose a failing water pump before it leads to severe overheating?

The water pump circulates coolant through the engine and radiator, preventing overheating. A faulty pump can cause the engine to overheat because it reduces coolant flow.

Signs of a Failing Water Pump:

Leaking coolant from the pump area.
High engine temperature readings.
Grinding noise indicating internal wear.

If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s best to have the water pump checked and replaced promptly.
