Why Do My Suzuki Khyber’s Brakes Make a Screeching Noise Every Time I Press the Pedal?

Lately, every time I press the brake pedal, there’s a loud screeching o r squealing sound from the front wheels. I think my brake pads might be worn out, but I’m not sure how to confirm that. Is this a common issue in Khyber with old brake pads?

A screeching o r squealing noise when braking is usually the first warning sign that your brake pads are worn out — and it’s quite common in Khybers due to aging parts and dusty environments.

Possible Causes:
Worn Brake Pads: Most likely, the brake pads are close to the wear indicator, a metal tab that makes a squealing sound to alert you.

Dust o r Debris Between Pad and Rotor: Pakistan’s dusty roads can cause debris to get lodged between pads and discs.

Low-Quality Pads: Cheap o r locally manufactured brake pads often squeal even when new.

Fix:
Inspect brake pad thickness — if less than 3 mm, replace them.

Use better-quality brake pads e.g., MK Kashiyama, Advics, o r TRW.

Clean the brake calipers and pads during replacement to remove dust.
