Why do the interior lights and meter panel lights in my Mehran stop working randomly?

Sometimes the dashboard light and cabin light in my Suzuki Mehran stop working without warning. I’ve checked the bulb, and it’s fine. Could it be a wiring issue o r fuse problem? What’s the best way to troubleshoot this without going to an expensive electrician?

This is usually due to a loose fuse, damaged wiring, o r bad grounding. Common signs include:

Interior dome light flickering o r turning off

Meter panel lights dimming o r not turning on

Switch working intermittently

Steps to troubleshoot:

Check the fuse box under the dashboard o r bonnet – replace any blown fuses usually 10A o r 15A.

Remove and clean the bulb socket terminals – rust o r dust can interrupt contact.

If the problem is random, ask an electrician to check the ground wire connections – especially behind the dashboard.

Replace the dome light switch near the door frame if it’s faulty – available for Rs. 200–300.

Basic electrical fixes like these are quick and cheap when done by a trusted local electrician.
