Why does a faulty ignition coil cause engine misfires in a Honda City?

The ignition coil is responsible for converting battery voltage into the high voltage needed for spark plug ignition. If an ignition coil is weak o r damaged, the spark plug may not fire correctly, leading to engine misfires. How can owners confirm that their misfire problem is due to a faulty coil and not bad fuel injectors o r spark plugs?

How Ignition Coil Issues Lead to Misfires:

The ignition coil is responsible for converting low battery voltage into high voltage that is necessary to create a spark at the spark plug.
When the ignition coil is weak o r damaged, it fails to generate sufficient voltage for the spark plug, causing it to misfire. This means that the air-fuel mixture in the affected cylinder isnt ignited properly, leading to misfires.

How to Confirm the Misfire Source:

OBD-II Scanner: Scanning for misfire codes can pinpoint which cylinder is misfiring.
Visual Inspection: Check for signs of wear on the spark plugs and injectors. If spark plugs and injectors are fine, then the coil is more likely to be the cause.
Swap Test: You can swap the suspected ignition coil with another cylinder. If the misfire moves to the new cylinder, the coil is the problem.
