Why Does a Toyota Camry’s Power Lock System Drain the Battery?

If a door lock keeps clicking o r the actuator stays engaged, can it lead to excessive battery drain? How can Camry owners diagnose and fix this issue?

If a power door lock is constantly clicking o r the actuator stays engaged, it can drain the battery. This could happen if:

Faulty actuator: The actuator may remain powered on even when not in use, causing unnecessary battery drain.
Wiring issues: A short in the wiring could prevent the lock from disengaging, continuously drawing power.

Diagnosis and Fix: Inspect the actuator, wiring, and control switches. If the actuator is faulty, replace it. If the wiring is shorting, it will need to be repaired.
