Why Does My Suzuki Mehran Engine Overheat During Summer Drives?
In hot weather, especially during long drives o r traffic jams, my Mehran’s temperature gauge starts climbing quickly. Sometimes it even reaches the red zone. What causes the overheating in Mehran and how can I prevent engine damage during summer?

Suzuki Mehran is known to overheat easily, especially in hot weather and traffic due to:
Weak cooling system: The radiator fan in carburetor models is belt-driven and always runs at engine speed. In traffic, it doesn’t spin fast enough to cool the engine properly.
Old radiator o r coolant leaks: Over time, rust, scale, o r low coolant levels reduce cooling efficiency.
Faulty thermostat: A jammed thermostat valve can block coolant flow, causing overheating.
Poor radiator cap: A worn cap won’t hold pressure, causing the coolant to boil early.
🛠 Fix:
Upgrade to an electric fan like the one in EFI models.
Flush radiator and refill with a proper coolant-water mix not just water.
Replace the thermostat and radiator cap if old o r worn out.
Check for coolant leaks in hoses and radiator.
