Why does my Suzuki Mehran’s transmission slip between gears?

I’ve been experiencing issues with my Suzuki Mehran’s transmission slipping between gears while driving. The car suddenly loses power and then jerks back into gear. What causes transmission slippage, and how can I address this problem?

Transmission slippage when the car suddenly loses power and jerks back into gear is often caused by issues with the clutch, transmission fluid, o r internal transmission components.

Common Causes:

Low o r old transmission fluid: When transmission fluid is low o r deteriorated, the clutch may not fully engage, leading to slippage.

Worn clutch: A worn-out clutch may fail to engage fully, causing the transmission to slip.

Faulty transmission bands: The bands in the transmission help keep the gears engaged. If they are worn o r damaged, slippage can occur.

Faulty torque converter: A malfunctioning torque converter responsible for transferring engine power to the transmission can cause slippage, especially in automatic transmissions.

Solutions:

Check the transmission fluid: Ensure the fluid is at the proper level and replace it if needed Rs. 1,500–2,500.

Inspect and replace the clutch: If the clutch is worn, replacing it should resolve the issue Rs. 7,000–12,000.

Adjust o r replace transmission bands: Worn bands may require an internal transmission repair Rs. 8,000–15,000.

Check the torque converter: If the torque converter is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced, which could be a more expensive repair.
