Why doesn’t my Suzuki Khyber deliver the original horsepower as claimed in specs?

Why doesn’t my Suzuki Khyber deliver the original horsepower as claimed in specs?

The factory specification says the Khyber produces around 55–60 horsepower, but the engine now feels weak and underpowered. Even after regular tuning, it struggles on inclines o r during overtaking. Is this due to engine aging, poor fuel quality in Pakistan, o r worn-out internal parts affecting performance?

The Suzuki Khyber originally produced around 55–60 horsepower, which was decent for a 993cc carbureted engine in its time. However, with aging components like piston rings, valves, ignition coils, and poor compression, actual output often s significantly. Loss of horsepower is common after years of use, especially with low-quality fuel, weak spark, and clogged carburetors. A compression test, proper engine tuning, and cleaning o r overhauling the carburetor can help recover some lost power.
