Why is my Suzuki Alto consuming more engine oil than usual?

Excessive engine oil consumption in a Suzuki Alto could indicate worn-out piston rings, valve seals, o r an issue with the PCV valve. How does this impact the engine’s capacity to perform efficiently, and what should be done to resolve this problem?

If your Suzuki Alto is consuming more engine oil than usual, the following issues could be at play:

Worn Piston Rings: Worn piston rings allow oil to leak into the combustion chamber, where it gets burned, leading to increased oil consumption.
Valve Seal Problems: Faulty valve seals can also cause oil to leak into the combustion chamber and burn off.
PCV Valve Malfunction: A faulty positive crankcase ventilation PCV valve can cause pressure to build up in the engine, leading to increased oil consumption.
Excessive Engine Wear: If the engine is older o r hasn’t been properly maintained, general wear and tear can lead to higher oil consumption.
Solution: Check the PCV valve for any issues and replace it if necessary. If the problem is due to worn piston rings o r valve seals, a more extensive engine repair may be required, such as a rebuild o r replacement of the affected components. Regular oil changes and using the correct grade of oil can also help manage oil consumption.
