Why is my Suzuki Altos engine running rough and producing a strong exhaust odor?

If the engine in your Suzuki Alto is running roughly and producing a strong odor from the exhaust, what could be the cause, and how can you fix it to avoid long-term damage?

If the engine is running roughly and the exhaust smells strongly, it could be caused by:

Fuel Quality Issues: Low-quality o r contaminated fuel can cause the engine to run unevenly and produce a strong odor from the exhaust.
Faulty Spark Plugs: Bad o r worn-out spark plugs can cause poor ignition, resulting in rough engine performance and unburnt fuel in the exhaust.
Rich Fuel Mixture: If the fuel mixture is too rich too much fuel compared to air, it can lead to rough running and strong exhaust odors, often accompanied by black smoke.
Exhaust Leak: A small exhaust leak near the engine can cause fumes to enter the cabin, resulting in a noticeable smell.
Solution: Inspect the spark plugs for wear o r damage and replace them if necessary. Have the fuel system checked for any leaks o r contamination. If the issue is a rich fuel mixture, the oxygen sensors o r fuel injectors may need to be cleaned o r replaced. An exhaust leak should also be sealed promptly.
