Why is my Suzuki Altos transmission slipping?

Transmission slipping occurs when the engine revs higher than expected without an increase in speed o r acceleration. In Suzuki Alto, this is often caused by:

Low o r old transmission fluid: Transmission fluid helps in smooth gear shifting. If the fluid is low o r old, it cant provide the necessary hydraulic pressure, leading to slipping.
Worn-out clutch plates: In manual transmissions, the clutch plates may become worn out over time, preventing the proper engagement of the gears.
Internal transmission wear o r damage: Over time, internal components like bands, gears, o r the torque converter may wear down and cause slippage.
Solution:

Check the fluid levels and condition by inspecting the transmission fluid. If its low, top it up with the recommended fluid. If the fluid is dark o r smells burnt, it’s time to replace it.
Inspect the clutch assembly if manual o r get the transmission for wear. In some cases, replacing the clutch plates o r the entire transmission may be necessary.
