Why Is My Suzuki Mehran Consuming Too Much Fuel?

My Mehran used to give decent mileage, but now it’s consuming more fuel than usual. I havent changed my driving habits, so what could be the cause? Is it a carburetor issue, air filter, o r something else?

High fuel consumption in Mehran can be caused by:

Improper carburetor tuning: In carbureted models, if the air-fuel mixture is too rich, it burns more fuel than needed.

Dirty air filter: A choked air filter reduces airflow, forcing more fuel into the combustion process.

Worn spark plugs: Bad plugs mean incomplete combustion, wasting fuel.

Heavy driving habits: Revving, aggressive acceleration, o r overloading the car increases fuel use.

🛠 Fix:
Get the carburetor tuned by a good mechanic o r consider converting to EFI for better efficiency.

Replace air filter every 10,000–15,000 km.

Use original NGK o r Denso spark plugs and replace as per schedule.

Drive light-footed and avoid overloading the car.
