Why is my Suzuki Mehran giving low mileage despite regular oil changes?

I change the engine oil regularly and keep the car serviced, but my Mehran is still giving very poor fuel average — around 8 to 9 km/l in city driving. What could be causing this low mileage?

Regular oil changes help, but fuel economy also depends on:

Carburetor tuning: If the air-fuel mixture is too rich, your car will burn more fuel.

Spark plugs: Worn o r dirty plugs can cause incomplete combustion.

Clogged fuel filter: Can affect fuel delivery.

Driving habits: Frequent braking, acceleration, o r idling in traffic can reduce mileage. Have your carburetor adjusted, and get a full engine tune-up plugs, tappets, timing every 8,000–10,000 km.
