2020 Toyota Corolla Prototype

The Toyota Company has launched the prototype of the new coming model of the car, 2020 Toyota Corolla. The 12th generation of the car has been launched in USA and the details about the design, exterior styling and panel curves are shown. It can have the angular front grill slanting from inside to outside similar to other Toyota products like new Camry. The new Toyota will base on the new global platform, which is known as TNGA ‘Toyota New Global Architecture’ and this modular platform is being used by Prius and CHR.



The global platforms technology is in use of German car companies for last many years and it s used extensively by Honda to reduce the production costs and it will provide better flexibility after sharing similar components in various models. The use of TNGA means next generation Corolla has different exterior design between US model o r European, Pakistan domestic model. The 12th generation will be identical in all markets, where Corolla sedan will be sold. New Camry used TNGA for the first time and the reason is that it is available in all market and in Pakistan.


Toyota did not make the big changes to its best selling new generation Camry and engine is same as the previous generation has. The rival civic moved to the turbocharged option and Toyota will bring turbo engine to its best selling model. Toyota luxury line up from the Lexus and it has started use of turbo engine in some model and it provides 1.2 L turbo engine. Toyota has launched next gen of transmissions of Toyota and Lexus models, which are the 8 speed and 10 speed units and they are the replacements of current CVT. The total global sales of Corolla will be higher than its rival, Civic as it lost the sales over 50,000, which is about 14% units in North American marketing, when you compare it with Civic.
