Honda City 2023 Facelift Unveiled in Malaysian

Setting itself apart from the facelift introduced in other countries, the Malaysian-spec City facelift showcases a refined design language and upgraded features.7th Gen Honda City Facelift Unveiled in Malaysia: Enhanced Design and Features.

Dimension
With refreshed front and rear designs, the City has experienced a slight increase in overall length compared to its pre-facelift predecessor. Standard variants now measure 4,580 mm in length, a growth of 27 mm, while RS models stretch to 4,589 mm, a 36 mm extension. However, the width (1,748 mm), height (1,467 mm), and wheelbase (2,600 mm) remain unchanged. Non-RS models retain a boot capacity of 519 liters, while the hybrid version offers 410 liters.

Variant Range
The newly launched car offers non-hybrid variants in S, E, V, and a fresh RS model. Additionally, the e: HEV RS serves as the sole hybrid option. The facelift package includes a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty and free labor service for up to five instances within 5 years/100,000 km. Hybrid models enjoy an 8-year/unlimited mileage battery warranty.

Elegant Design and Interior
The RS facelift model showcases a black-coated chrome bar and a honeycomb mesh insert in the grille. The lower intake design features a diamond-patterned mesh surrounded by trim resembling air inlets. RS models also exhibit a rear diffuser-like element, a boot spoiler, side skirts, and updated 'RS' badges. While exterior changes are significant, the interior retains its familiar dashboard design. An 8-inch infotainment unit, enhanced multi-angle rearview camera, colored illumination for automatic air conditioning, and a new interface for the USB port are among the updates.

Unchanged Powertrain
Engine and mechanical configurations remain unaltered. The S, E, V, and RS variants all house the same 1.5L naturally-aspirated inline-four cylinder i-VTEC engine, generating 120 hp and 145 Nm of torque. A CVT gearbox transfers power to the front wheels. The e: HEV RS hybrid variant retains the Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) powertrain, which combines a 1.5L engine, two electric motors, a lithium-ion battery pack, and an e-CVT gearbox. The hybrid model maintains outputs of 109 hp and 253 Nm.

Safety Features
Standard safety includes Honda Sensing features along with Lead Car Departure Notification, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keep Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, and Low-Speed Follow. Additional features comprise 6 airbags, Walk Away Auto Lock, ABS, and EBD.
