Kia Introduces Two Additional Features to the Picanto

Amidst a backdrop of sluggish auto sales, local auto assemblers persist in enticing potential buyers with an array of discounts, rebates, and additional features.

A recent example comes from Lucky Motor Company (LMC), which has enhanced the Kia Picanto by introducing two new features. As per Kia Pakistan's social media updates, the Picanto Automatic variant now boasts a 9’’ MP5 touch-screen and a rear-view camera. Remarkably, the price remains unchanged, with the vehicle available for PKR 38.5 lac (ex-factory).

In addition to these upgrades, the company is presenting an instant cashback of Rs. 50,000 for those booking a new Picanto AT. It's worth noting that the offer doesn't specify the Picanto MT variant, priced at PKR 33.5 lac (ex-factory).

The Picanto, a globally retired 2nd generation model in Pakistan and the most economical in Kia's local lineup, faces challenges in making a sales impact, particularly when pitted against its competitor, the Suzuki Cultus (Celerio). Despite the comparable Cultus variant now being notably pricier than the Picanto, the small Kia hatchback grapples to gain market traction.

The effectiveness of the latest offer in boosting sales for the aging Picanto in Pakistan remains uncertain, and only time will reveal the outcome.
