Kia Picanto 2024 Facelift In Australia

Kia has introduced the second facelift for the third-generation Picanto in Australia, adding a fresh appeal to this small hatchback. Available in two versions, the Picanto remains an attractive choice for those seeking a Compact Hatchback with a plethora of features.

Distinctive Design Updates

The latest facelift showcases a significant redesign that almost transforms the New Kia Picanto 2024 into a brand-new model. Embracing Kia's Opposites United design philosophy, the hatchback boasts a revamped front fascia with a new grille, bespoke LED headlights, and a thoroughly reworked rear fascia featuring new taillights and a redesigned bumper.

Two Versions: Picanto Sport and GT-Line

The entry-level model, named Picanto Sport, is complemented by the Picanto flagship GT-Line, featuring 16-inch alloy wheels, enhanced headlamps and taillights, and a new gloss black diffuser. The GT-Line also offers a selection of seven exterior paint finishes, including the new Adventurous Green tone.

Enhanced Interior Features

Inside, both Kia Picanto Sport and GT-Line Models boast a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, upgraded premium synthetic leather for the steering wheel and shift knob, USB Type-C charging ports at the rear, and an 8-inch infotainment display. Safety features include Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Follow Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist.

Uniform Performance

Both variants are powered by a 1.2L naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 83 hp and 122 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing Details

The Picanto Sport manual starts at AU$17,890, while the automatic variant is priced at AU$19,490. The GT-Line manual is priced at AU$19,690, with the automatic version available at AU$21,290.

A Glimpse into Picanto's Evolution

The third-generation Kia Picanto made its debut in 2017, more than two and a half years before the globally retired second-generation model was launched in Pakistan in late 2019. The first facelift quickly followed the global debut, offering an updated version shortly after the obsolete model's introduction in Pakistan. Despite the third-generation Picanto receiving its second facelift, the globally obsolete second-generation Kia Picanto 2023 continues to linger in Pakistan, commanding a hefty price of Rs 33.5 lac for the MT and Rs 38.5 lac for the AT variant.
