Lahore High Court Orders Seizure of Illegally Parked Cars

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a series of directives aimed at addressing various issues in the provincial capital. During a hearing to combat smog, Justice Shahid Karim, presiding over the bench, ordered the authorities to take action against illegally parked vehicles in the city.

In an effort to promote traffic discipline, the court has ordered an increase in fines for traffic offenses, believing that higher penalties will encourage people to be more cautious and adhere to the rules.

Additionally, the LHC has instructed traffic officers to continue their crackdown on motorbike riders without helmets, emphasizing the importance of road safety.

Furthermore, Justice Karim called upon the legal team to address the problem of accumulated rainwater in the CBD Underpass, highlighting the need for timely solutions to infrastructure issues.

Regarding parking facilities, the court ordered the closure of restaurants that do not have dedicated parking spaces, aiming to alleviate parking congestion and promote better traffic flow.

Moreover, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been directed to put an end to unauthorized parking throughout the city, with particular attention to service lanes.
