Nissan's Next-Gen GT-R: Hyper Force Electric Concept

Nissan took the stage at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Show, unveiling five remarkable concepts, one of which is the Hyper Force. This concept provides a tantalizing glimpse into what the legendary GT-R might become in the era of electrified automobiles.

Impressive Design
The Hyper Force's design is nothing short of captivating. Its edges are razor-sharp, and the raw metal finish glistens like a fine carving knife. The car's front fascia juts out, resembling a determined lower lip or a steam train cowcatcher. The headlights, reminiscent of a hammerhead shark's eyes, are set deep within a recessed grille. The body's lines toward the rear effortlessly blend geometric and organic elements, crowned by a triangular flare over the tires.

Aerodynamic Prowess
Despite its somewhat blocky shape, Nissan assures us that the Hyper Force will slice through the air with the efficiency of a knife. The NISMO racing team had a hand in its design, ensuring effective management of downforce and cooling airflow. A comb-like rear diffuser and a stepped front end play a pivotal role in this, while the sizable wing provides active aerodynamics. A plasma actuator further fine-tunes airflow around the forged carbon wheels, enhancing cornering grip.

Futuristic Cockpit
Step inside the Hyper Force, and you'll find a cockpit crafted from forged carbon. The racing buckets recline in a laid-back fashion, equipped with four-point belts. The concept's small steering wheel and adjacent screens mirror the squared-off edges of its exterior. In GT mode, the interior lighting changes to blue, and the interface shifts its focus towards infotainment and cabin comfort. When not in motion, the Hyper Force can transform into a VR gaming room, offering the ability to race without leaving the garage, connecting with friends worldwide.

Electrifying Performance
Under the Hyper Force's sculpted hood lies an electric powertrain producing an astonishing 1,341 hp (1,000 kW). This power is channeled through an advanced version of Nissan's e-4orce electric torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, backed by a cutting-edge solid-state battery. While Nissan refrains from confirming that the future GT-R will be solely electric, they do express keen interest in gauging public feedback on the Hyper Force concept as they plan for future performance vehicles.
