Pakistan Plans To Bring 30% Electric Vehicles By 2030

Government of Pakistan aims to fully electrify the vehicles in future to fulfill the commitment to environmental changes and to reduce the harmful gaseous emission to make the environment safe and healthy in the country. The plan to convert the vehicles to run on electricity will definitely help in this regard.

The government of Pakistan sets a target to bring almost 30% vehicles to electric vehicles by 2030. This was told to international community by the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Nations, Munir Akram in the virtual meeting of the Group of Friends on Climate Change held in New York.

The Ambassador said:
If developing countries are destitute, if there are humanitarian disasters, if we are unable to recover from COVID-19, I think all other actions for many developing countries will become irrelevant. So urgent and immediate actions are needed.

He further added
Pakistan plans to increase the share of renewable energy by 4 percent, taking it to 30 percent by 2030.
