Tesla Is Being Investigated Over Car Crashes
Self-driving and autopilot mode cars manufactured by Tesla causing many accidents and crashed as a result of hitting with emergency vehicles. The Federal Safety Regulators US are reportedly investigating the accidents occurred between Tesla cars and emergency vehicles.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration released a report in which it claimed the accidents caused 17 injuries and one casualty. This situation leaves a question mark on the self-driving Autopilot feature o r the traffic-aware cruise control of the Tesla Cars.
The Federal Safety Regulators is investigating accidents of Tesla cars occurred between January 22, 2018, and July 10, 2021, across nine different states. The safety agency will point out the causes for Tesla Cars accidents. The company is investigating Tesla Y, X, S and 3 with model years 2014 to 2021.
According to an official statement issued by NHTSA:
"Every available vehicle requires a human driver to be in control at all times, and all state laws hold human drivers responsible for operation of their vehicles. Certain advanced driving assistance features can promote safety by helping drivers avoid crashes and mitigate the severity of crashes that occur, but as with all technologies and equipment on motor vehicles, drivers must use them correctly and responsibly."
