Toyota Crown Signia Launches in the United States

Toyota has introduced the new Crown Signia (Estate) alongside the unveiling of the 9th generation Camry in the United States. This model is part of the revived Crown series, which also includes the Sedan, Sport, and Crossover variants. In the U.S. market, the Crown Signia is set to replace the Toyota Venza (known as the Harrier in some regions). Its dimensions are 4,930 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,850 mm.

Similar to the 9th-gen Camry, the Toyota Crown Signia is built on the GA-K version of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) and will feature a hybrid powertrain. The powertrain comprises a 2.5L naturally-aspirated inline-four-cylinder petrol engine supported by two electric motors, with power transmitted through an E-CVT gearbox. The AWD system includes an electric motor mounted at the rear axle, contributing to a total system output of 243 hp.

Equipped with this hybrid powertrain, the Crown Signia can tow up to 1,225 kg and boasts a preliminary combined fuel consumption of 15.3 km/liter (36 mpg). Three drive modes—Normal, Eco, and Sport—are available. In terms of design, the Crown Signia showcases a distinctive 'hammerhead' fascia, aligning it with Toyota's latest design language. Unique features include slim DRLs, a more closed-off and patterned grille, and headlamps positioned at the corner of the bumper. The SUV-like profile includes black body cladding, and the rear features slim full-width taillights.

The interior mirrors that of the Crown Crossover, featuring dual 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen. The center console houses the gear selector and two cupholders, while the air vents are positioned above the climate controls in a standard center stack. The steering wheel design and the partition between the driver and front passenger remain consistent.

The base XLE variant comes with standard features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, Softex faux leather/fabric seat upholstery, a 6-speaker sound system, powered and heated front seats, a wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and start, 8 airbags, and the Toyota Safety Sense suite. The suite includes autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beam, Proactive Driving Assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist.
