Toyota Introduces Yaris Cross Hybrid in Thailand

Toyota has officially introduced the Yaris Cross hybrid in Thailand, following its successful debut in Indonesia earlier this year. This versatile vehicle is already making its way to various Asian and Latin American markets, demonstrating Toyota's commitment to eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Variants and Pricing

The Thai-spec Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid offers three distinct variants to cater to different customer preferences. The lineup includes the HEV Smart, starting at 789,000 baht (PKR 59.97 lac), the HEV Premium at 849,000 baht (PKR 64.53 lac), and the flagship HEV Premium Luxury, available for 899,000 baht (PKR 68.33 lac).

Powerful Hybrid Performance

Under the hood, the Yaris Cross hybrid boasts a dynamic powertrain. It combines a 2NR-VEX 1.5L naturally-aspirated (E20-compliant) petrol engine, generating 90 hp and 121 Nm of torque, with an electric motor producing 79 hp (59 kW) and 141 Nm. The seamless collaboration between these components results in a combined system output of 110 hp. The hybrid battery, a 4.3 Ah lithium-ion unit, ensures efficient energy utilization, with an impressive fuel economy rating of 26.3 km/liter.

HEV Smart: Feature-Packed
The base HEV Smart variant comes loaded with essential features, including automatic LED headlamps, LED taillights, LED DRLs, LED front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and synthetic leather seat upholstery. Keyless entry and engine start, a 10.1-inch touchscreen head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6-speaker sound system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake, automatic air-conditioning with PM2.5 filter and rear vents, and advanced safety features like ABS, EBD, brake assist, VSC, traction control, hill start assist, 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, rear-view camera, and three drive modes (Power, Normal, and Eco) are also included.

HEV Premium: Enhanced Comfort and Safety

Stepping up to the HEV Premium variant brings additional comforts and safety enhancements. This package includes 17-inch brushed dual-tone alloys, silver roof rails, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, seat upholstery with Quole Modure to reduce heat buildup, two front parking sensors, and a front-facing dashcam. Moreover, it benefits from the Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring a front departure alert, pedal misoperation control, a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, all-speed adaptive cruise control, pre-collision safety (autonomous emergency braking), lane departure warning, and automatic high beam.

HEV Premium Luxury: Top-Tier Features

The flagship HEV Premium Luxury variant builds upon the HEV Premium with an array of luxurious features. It boasts 18-inch polished dual-tone alloys, welcome lamps on the side mirrors, a fixed panoramic roof with a powered curtain, a 6-speaker Pioneer sound system, a Qi wireless charging pad, a powered tailgate with hands-free access, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear-facing dashcam, and a panoramic view monitor.

Customization Options

Customers in Thailand have the option to personalize their Toyota Yaris Cross 2023 with a range of optional extras, dual-tone colors, and two accessory packages: the Urban Sport and Modellista package. Both packages enhance the vehicle's aesthetics, with the Urban Sport package also adding additional garnishes throughout the exterior for a distinctive look.
