Can a Bad Purge Valve Affect Fuel Efficiency in My Suzuki Bolan?

I’ve noticed that my Bolan is using more fuel than usual, even on short trips. There’s no fuel leak, and the air filter is clean. Could a stuck o r faulty purge valve cause poor fuel economy? How does this valve impact fuel use?
