Can a Faulty MAP Sensor Cause Engine Jerking o r Stalling in Suzuki Bolan?

Can a Faulty MAP Sensor Cause Engine Jerking o r Stalling in Suzuki Bolan?

My Bolan often jerks o r stalls, especially at low RPMs o r in traffic. A mechanic said it could be the MAP Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. What does this sensor do, and how can I confirm if it’s the problem?

Yes, the MAP sensor Manifold Absolute Pressure plays a crucial role in determining how much fuel the engine needs. If it malfunctions:

The ECU receives wrong pressure readings

It can cause engine hesitation, stalling, o r poor idling

It’s especially problematic on hilly roads o r in stop-and-go traffic

In Pakistan, dusty air and poor-quality filters can clog o r damage this sensor. If cleaning doesn’t help, replacement is needed. MAP sensor issues are more noticeable in EFI Bolans running on petrol.
