Can a Rusted Radiator Cause Repeated Coolant Leaks in Suzuki Bolan?

The radiator in my Suzuki Bolan looks old and slightly rusted. I’ve noticed occasional dripping and coolant loss. Could internal rust o r corrosion be causing pinhole leaks? How common is radiator rust in Pakistan’s climate, and what’s the long-term fix?

Yes, rust inside the radiator is a common problem in older Suzuki Bolan vans in Pakistan, especially if tap water instead of proper coolant is used. Rust weakens the radiator metal, leading to:

Pinhole leaks o r cracks in the core.

Corrosion around hose connections o r the radiator neck.

Blockages that increase pressure and force coolant out through weak points.

If the radiator is visibly rusted o r leaking repeatedly, its best to replace it rather than keep patching it. Also, switch to using proper coolant not plain water to prevent future corrosion.
