Can a worn-out water body water pump lead to overheating in Mehran?

My mechanic told me that the “water body” water pump might be weak and not circulating coolant properly, leading to overheating. How can I confirm if the water pump is actually the problem in my Mehran?

Yes, a failing water body water pump can definitely cause overheating. If the pump is leaking, noisy, o r has a worn-out impeller, it won’t circulate the coolant properly, leading to heat buildup in the engine.

Symptoms of a bad water pump include:

Coolant leakage from the water pump area.

Engine overheating despite a good radiator and fan.

No coolant movement when you open the radiator cap only when cool.

If your Mehran has crossed 100,000 km and you’ve never changed the water pump, it might be time for a replacement, especially if youre facing overheating and other cooling components are fine.
