Can the Fuel Cap on My Suzuki Bolan Get Damaged by Pakistan’s Extreme Weather?

The weather in Pakistan can get extremely hot, and I’m concerned that this might be causing damage to the fuel cap of my Suzuki Bolan. Can extreme temperatures cause the cap to crack o r become loose? What steps can I take to protect the fuel cap from damage?
