Can Worn Spark Plugs Cause Poor Fuel Efficiency in Suzuki Bolan?

I’ve noticed a in fuel efficiency and weaker acceleration in my Bolan. I haven’t changed the spark plugs in a long time. Can old o r worn spark plugs lead to increased fuel consumption, and is this a frequent issue in older models used in Pakistan?

Yes, old o r worn spark plugs can cause poor fuel efficiency. When spark plugs don’t ignite the mixture efficiently, the combustion process becomes incomplete. This leads to fuel wastage, loss of engine power, and increased fuel consumption. It’s particularly common in Bolan vans that haven’t had a regular tune-up. Dirty o r improperly gapped plugs force the engine to work harder, consuming more fuel to compensate. Replacing spark plugs with high-quality ones especially for CNG if applicable can improve mileage and performance noticeably.
