Charade: Original Carburettor, Air Box & Manifold
Charade: Original Carburettor, Air Box & Manifold
Hey Guys,
I have a 1986 Charade DETOMASO Bianca with the Turbo disconnected and running cng on it. The problem im facing is a lag in pick up and a fairly heavy usage of CNG. I was thinking about getting the turbo, Air Intake and Manifold changed to the regular NA system. Could anyone please assist me in locating the regular stuff here and i good condition or if anyone is willing to exchange the turbo setup wid the NA setup.. the turbo is in working condition.
Also if anyone has the Original Detomaso Bianca front/rear bumpers and steering wheel, do let me know....
awaiting help, specially from charade lovers!!!

High consumption is because of engine running richer at high speed as the engine is designed to run at hi-speed under boost. In absence of boost, it gets richer at high speed. The secondary nozzle is much larger on CB60 carb as compared with CB23 NA carb.
I dont know how these CNG guys deactivate the turbos if the manifold remains the same? If only the turbo compressor is bypassed and the turbine on exhaust end in in tact then your compressor must be ruined by now.
post pics of the engine bay to see your existing setup.
The conversion of a CB60 to CB23 (NA) requires parts which are freely available and cheaper but they are so many incl carb, airbox, fuel pump, manifold. If turbo is fine then you need nothing, just plumbing a few air pipes back. Parts of CB 60 are also available here in punjab, only money is problem (if u dont have pocket full of that mate!)
Goodluck
