Could Worn Steering Bushes Be the Reason for Loose Steering in My Suzuki Bolan?

My steering feels loose and unstable, especially at higher speeds. It takes a bit of extra effort to keep the van in a straight line. A local mechanic mentioned steering bushes might be worn. How common is this issue in older Bolan models, and what’s the solution?

Yes, worn steering column bushes o r rack mounts can cause the steering to feel loose o r wobbly. You may notice:

Excessive play in the steering wheel.

Difficulty maintaining a straight line.

Noise o r a “thud” when turning quickly.

This is a very common issue in older Suzuki Bolan vans due to aging parts and rough road conditions. Replacing worn-out steering bushes, tie rods, o r even the steering rack joint can significantly improve handling and safety.
