Does the BMW 2 Series consume more fuel due to Pakistan’s fuel quality?

I’ve heard that poor fuel quality in Pakistan can affect fuel economy. Could this be a reason why my BMW 2 Series is consuming more petrol? Are there any specific fuel brands o r octane levels that can help improve mileage?

Yes, fuel quality in Pakistan can directly impact the performance and fuel economy of your BMW 2 Series. BMW engines are designed for high-octane fuels, but many local fuel stations offer substandard fuel with impurities that may affect efficiency.

How Poor Fuel Affects Fuel Economy:

Incomplete Combustion: Lower RON Research Octane Number fuels may not burn efficiently, leading to higher consumption.
Engine Knocking: Low-quality fuel can cause knocking, which affects performance and fuel economy.
Fuel Injector Clogging: Contaminants in fuel can clog injectors, causing improper fuel spraying and poor mileage.
Solution:

Always refuel at reputable stations like Shell V-Power o r PSO Hi-Octane minimum 95 RON.
Use a fuel system cleaner every few months.
Avoid refueling from unknown o r low-quality stations.
