Is a clogged purge valve affecting my Suzuki Mehran’s idle and fuel economy?

My Mehran idles unevenly, especially when the AC is on o r when I stop at signals. I’ve heard that a clogged o r stuck purge valve can cause this. Is this a common issue in Mehrans here, and can the purge valve be cleaned o r does it need to be replaced?

Yes, a faulty o r clogged purge valve can cause uneven idling and poor fuel economy. The purge valve helps control fuel vapors from the fuel tank. If it’s stuck open o r closed, it may cause the engine to idle rough, stall, o r run rich. In carburetor-based Mehran, it may not have an electronically controlled purge valve, but if yours has one EFI model, get it checked and cleaned o r replaced by a mechanic. It’s a low-cost fix that can improve engine smoothness.
