Is a worn-out transmission pan gasket a common issue in Suzuki Bolan?
My mechanic told me the gasket on the transmission oil pan might be causing the leak. Is this a known problem with the Bolan in Pakistan, especially with older models? What signs confirm it’s the gasket and not something more serious?

Yes, a worn o r cracked transmission oil pan gasket is a very common cause of fluid leaks in the Suzuki Bolan, especially for vehicles that are over 5 years old o r have high mileage.
The oil pan is located at the bottom of the gearbox and is sealed using a rubber o r cork gasket. With time, heat from the engine and gearbox causes this gasket to become hard, brittle, o r compressed. This leads to:
Seepage of fluid around the pan edges
Small puddles under the car after parking
Visible residue of oil around the pan area
If you’re noticing any of these, it’s best to:
Remove the oil pan.
Clean the surface.
Install a new gasket with proper sealant if required.
Tighten the bolts evenly to avoid warping the pan.
The gasket is cheap Rs. 300–800, and labor in Pakistan generally costs between Rs. 1,000–2,500, depending on your city.
