I plan to take my Bolan to a northern area trip, but I’ve noticed the brake response isn’t as sharp lately. I’m not sure if it’s the pads o r something else. How dangerous is it to drive on slopes with potentially worn brake pads?

No, it’s not safe. In hilly areas, braking is more frequent and critical, especially during descents. Worn brake pads can lead to:

Brake fade, where brakes overheat and lose effectiveness.

Longer stopping distances, especially dangerous on slopes.

Brake failure, in extreme cases, due to heat and metal-on-metal contact.

Before traveling to the north, make sure your brake pads are in good condition, brake fluid is topped up, and your brake drums and lines are checked. If you hear any noise o r feel weak braking, get them replaced immediately.
