Is removing the thermostat valve a safe solution for overheating in Suzuki Bolan?
Many local mechanics in Pakistan suggest removing the thermostat valve permanently to avoid overheating. They say it’s a common practice in Bolan vans. Is this actually safe for the engine in the long run? What are the risks of running the Bolan without a thermostat?

Removing the thermostat is a common but risky Desi fix used by many mechanics in Pakistan. While it might temporarily prevent overheating, it is not a long-term o r ideal solution.
Risks of removing the thermostat:
Engine runs too cold, especially in winter.
Poor fuel efficiency.
Weak heater performance.
Increased engine wear over time due to improper operating temperature.
Delayed warm-up causes the ECU to run rich wasting petrol.
Safer alternative:
Replace the faulty thermostat instead of removing it. A properly working thermostat helps maintain ideal engine temperature, which is important for engine health and fuel economy.
