Pajero engine conversion

guys i am thinking of buying a 92-95 model 3dr 2.4-2.8 lit one, since they are all diesel i want to convert the engine to a 1.6 petrol, is this possible. the weight of this pajero is 1.5 tons and a normal sedan with a 1.6-1.8 engine is 1.3 tons so i think it will work, also i think the big diesel engine in the pajero is the main contributor to the weight anyway.

dude i wud suggest, look for an original Pajero petrol engine as 1.6 might give u problems like the car being under powered n stuff. The original petrol engine in a 3 door is 3.0 & 3.5 i guess.
