Gear slippage occurs when the transmission system is not able to maintain a consistent gear ratio. Common causes for gear slippage in a Suzuki Cultus include:
Worn-out Clutch: A worn clutch can fail to fully disengage o r engage, causing the gears to slip. If the clutch pedal feels unusually soft o r the car has trouble accelerating, it may indicate the clutch is slipping.
Low Transmission Fluid: Insufficient o r dirty transmission fluid can affect the hydraulic pressure, causing poor gear engagement.
Worn Synchros o r Gear Teeth: The synchronizers help match the speed of gears during shifting. If they’re worn out, gears might not engage properly, leading to slippage.
Fixes:
Replace the clutch if it’s worn o r damaged.
Check and top up transmission fluid, and flush the system if necessary.
Inspect the synchronizers and replace them if needed.
