Toyota Vitz Bad Fuel Average

Good afternoon,

I have a 2006 Toyota Vitz with a 1KRFE engine. After fixing a vibration issue by replacing engine and gear mounts, I’m now experiencing very poor fuel economy. I’m getting only 7-8 km per liter 300-320 km per tank with the A/C on.

I’ve done all the maintenance—tuning, oil and filter changes, spark plug check, throttle body cleaning—and even used high-octane fuel, but it didn’t help. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this issue?

I’ve noticed the tire size might be too big. Sometimes, people get better mileage with the 1300cc Vitz compared to the 1000cc model. When you’ve got the family in the car with the A/C on and oversized tires, you might not get good mileage with the 1-liter 3-cylinder engine.
