Toyota Vitz Low Furl Average

Toyota Vitz Low Furl Average

Hey folks,

Got a 2014 Vitz 1KR 1.0 here with over 90k+ KMs on the clock. Fuel economys been giving me grief lately, running at about 7-8 KM/Ltr. It was all good when I first got it, but now its taking a nosedive.

Ive already thrown in new ignition coils, and sparkplugs, did the cat and sensor service, and gave the fuel injectors a good cleaning. But no dice, still sippin gas like theres no tomorrow. No weird vibes, no funny noises – everything seems normal.

Took it to my mechanic, had it scanned, and they found an O2 sensor error, even though the engine light stayed stubbornly off. We tried a few times, but that light just wouldnt show up. We even poked around the meter, but no funny business there.

Any ideas on what might be causing this mess? Could it be the car meter acting up? o r some wiring o r fuse trouble? o r are those O2 sensors actually kaput?

My mechanics thinking well give the meter a once-over and fix it up, and then tackle those O2 sensors and their wiring if needed.

Thanks, yall!

The oxygen sensor started acting up after 80,000 kilometers. Its probably a good idea to replace it with a new one. Some diagnostic tools can display an oxygen sensor graph. A healthy oxygen sensor should show a smooth, wave-like pattern when the engine is idling.

As long as the oxygen sensor is functioning properly and sending signals, you shouldnt trigger the check engine light. So, its a good practice to keep an eye on the oxygen sensor graph.
