What Are the Symptoms of a Faulty Purge Control Valve in Suzuki Bolan?

My Bolan is showing signs of rough idling and sometimes stalls when I slow down. A mechanic said it could be the purge control valve. What are the typical symptoms of a failing purge valve, and how can I be sure it’s the cause?

A failing purge control valve can cause several noticeable symptoms, including:

Rough idling

Engine stalling when slowing down o r coming to a stop

Poor acceleration

Sometimes even engine surging o r jerking

This valve controls the flow of fuel vapors from the charcoal canister to the intake manifold. If it sticks open, it allows too much vapor, disrupting the air-fuel mix. If it sticks closed, vapors can’t be purged properly, causing a buildup of pressure. In older Bolans, especially those on CNG, this issue may go unnoticed unless thoroughly diagnosed.
