What Causes My Suzuki Bolan to Overheat During Long Drives?

I have noticed that my Suzuki Bolan tends to overheat after driving for a prolonged period o r during the summer months. This seems to happen mostly when I’m on long trips o r in slow-moving traffic. What are the common causes of overheating in the Suzuki Bolan, and what preventive measures can I take to avoid it?

Overheating during long drives can be caused by several issues:

Coolant Level: If the coolant level is low o r the coolant is old, it can cause the engine to overheat. Ensure the coolant is at the recommended level and replace it if it’s been in the system for too long.

Radiator Issues: A clogged o r damaged radiator can prevent the engine from cooling properly. If the radiator is clogged o r has leaks, it needs to be cleaned o r replaced.

Thermostat Problems: A malfunctioning thermostat may prevent the engine from reaching o r maintaining the optimal operating temperature. If the thermostat is stuck closed, it will cause the engine to overheat.

Water Pump Failure: The water pump circulates coolant through the engine. If it’s not functioning properly, the coolant won’t circulate, leading to overheating. Check the water pump for signs of failure.

Fan Issues: The cooling fan is responsible for maintaining airflow over the radiator. If the fan is faulty o r the fan relay is malfunctioning, the engine can overheat. Check the fan motor and its electrical connections.

Solution: Start by checking the coolant level and condition. If that’s not the problem, inspect the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and fan. Replacing worn-out parts and ensuring proper coolant circulation will prevent overheating.
