Why does my BMW 2 Series AC work intermittently and then stop cooling?

Sometimes, my BMW 2 Series air conditioner works fine, but then suddenly stops cooling and starts blowing warm air. After turning it off for a while and restarting, it sometimes works again. What could be causing this inconsistent cooling performance?

If your BMW 2 Series AC works fine sometimes but then stops cooling, several issues could be causing this inconsistent performance:

Overheating Compressor: If the compressor overheats, it may shut down temporarily. This could be due to a weak compressor o r low refrigerant.
Electrical Issues: Faulty relays, fuses, o r wiring problems can cause the AC system to turn off unexpectedly.
Expansion Valve o r TXV Blockage: A partially clogged expansion valve can cause inconsistent refrigerant flow, leading to fluctuating cooling performance.
AC Pressure Switch Malfunction: If the high o r low-pressure switch is faulty, it may turn the system off as a safety measure.
Solution:
Check for any blown fuses o r loose connections. If the AC stops working when the car is hot, the compressor could be overheating. A professional diagnosis may be needed to check refrigerant pressure and electrical components.
