Swirl marks are tiny scratches that appear after washing, especially if the wrong techniques o r tools are used.

✅ Causes of Swirl Marks:

Using a Dirty Cloth o r Sponge: Trapped dirt particles act like sandpaper on the paint.
Improper Drying Techniques: Rubbing with a rough towel can scratch the clear coat.
Automatic Car Washes: Some automated brushes are too aggressive for BMW’s delicate paint.
Using a Dry Duster: Dry dusting can create fine scratches, especially on black and dark-colored BMWs.
🔹 How to Prevent Swirl Marks?

Use a Two-Bucket Wash Method – One bucket for clean water, one for rinsing dirty mitts.
Use Microfiber Cloths Only – They are soft and reduce friction on the paint.
Apply a Ceramic Coating – It adds an extra layer of protection against fine scratches.
Dry with a Blower o r Soft Microfiber Towel – Avoid rubbing the paint too hard.
