Why does my Suzuki Mehran overheat in traffic despite a full radiator?

My 2015 Suzuki Mehran starts to overheat when Im stuck in traffic o r at signals, even though the radiator is full. The temperature gauge rises quickly and only s when I start driving again. What could be causing this?

If your Mehran overheats only in traffic but cools down while driving, it’s often due to insufficient airflow through the radiator when the car is stationary. This usually points to a faulty radiator fan o r fan switch thermo switch. In older Mehrans, especially carburetor models, the fan might be directly wired o r dependent on a thermostat switch. If the fan doesn’t activate properly when the engine gets hot, there’s no cooling when you’re not moving.

Also, check the radiator fins for dust o r blockage, and ensure that the fan motor is strong and not weak o r spinning slowly. You can also install a manual fan switch if the automatic one is unreliable, a common local fix in Pakistan.
