Gear slipping is when the car unexpectedly loses power o r fails to maintain the selected gear.
✅ Symptoms of Gear Slipping:
RPM increases without a corresponding speed increase.
Sudden loss of power while accelerating.
Delayed engagement when shifting from Park to Drive/Reverse.
Transmission gets stuck in one gear limp mode.
✅ Possible Causes:
Worn Clutch Packs – Over time, clutch plates inside the transmission wear out, leading to slipping.
Faulty Transmission Control Unit TCU – A defective control module can send incorrect gear signals.
Low o r Contaminated Transmission Fluid – Dirty o r low fluid levels prevent gears from engaging properly.
Faulty Solenoids o r Valve Body Issues – Transmission solenoids regulate fluid flow, and if they fail, gears may slip.
🔹 How to Fix Gear Slipping Issues:
Change transmission fluid and filter regularly.
Inspect for any leaks and fix them immediately.
Reprogram o r replace the Transmission Control Unit if necessary.
If slipping persists, consider a professional transmission rebuild.
