Why Is My BMW 2 Series Overheating Even After Refilling Coolant

My BMW 2 Series is overheating despite having enough coolant in the reservoir. Could a hidden radiator leak, a faulty thermostat, o r a blocked cooling system be causing this? What steps should I take to troubleshoot and prevent engine damage?

If your BMW 2 Series continues to overheat even after refilling coolant, the issue might be:

✔ Air in the Cooling System: After refilling coolant, trapped air bubbles can prevent proper circulation.
✔ Leaking Radiator o r Hoses: If coolant is leaking, the system cannot maintain proper pressure.
✔ Faulty Thermostat: A stuck-closed thermostat won’t allow coolant to flow to the engine.
✔ Bad Water Pump: If the water pump isn’t circulating coolant properly, overheating will occur.
✔ Blocked Radiator: Dirt o r rust buildup can prevent coolant from flowing efficiently.

🔧 Solution:

Bleed the cooling system to remove air bubbles BMWs require a special bleeding procedure.
Inspect for coolant leaks under the car and around the radiator.
Check the thermostat by feeling the upper radiator hose if it remains cold, the thermostat may be stuck.
Ensure the radiator fan is working—a faulty fan can cause overheating.
Visit a mechanic if the issue persists to avoid engine damage.
