Why Is My Suzuki Bolan Consuming Excessive Fuel?

Recently, Ive observed that my Suzuki Bolan is consuming more fuel than usual. I have not changed my driving habits, but the mileage seems to be significantly lower. Could this be a performance issue, and what are the possible causes of excessive fuel consumption in the Bolan? How can I improve its fuel efficiency?

Excessive fuel consumption in a Suzuki Bolan can be caused by several factors:

Dirty o r Clogged Air Filter: A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing the engine to consume more fuel. Replacing the air filter with a clean one can improve fuel efficiency.

Incorrect Tire Pressure: Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance, leading to more fuel consumption. Make sure your tires are properly inflated to the recommended pressure.

Faulty Oxygen Sensor: The oxygen sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases and helps the engine control unit ECU adjust the fuel mixture. A faulty sensor can lead to inefficient fuel use. Replace the oxygen sensor if it’s malfunctioning.

Fuel System Problems: Clogged fuel injectors o r a dirty fuel filter can lead to poor fuel atomization and inefficient fuel combustion, causing the engine to consume more fuel. Clean o r replace the fuel injectors and fuel filter if needed.

Driving Habits: Aggressive driving rapid acceleration, high-speed driving, and constant braking can significantly reduce fuel efficiency. Practice smooth driving habits to improve fuel economy.

Engine Oil Quality: Using the wrong engine oil o r low-quality oil can cause the engine to work harder, resulting in higher fuel consumption. Ensure you’re using the recommended oil type and changing it regularly.

Solution: Start by replacing the air filter and checking tire pressure. If the problem persists, inspect the oxygen sensor, fuel injectors, and fuel filter. Practicing good driving habits can also improve fuel efficiency.
